Feasibility study for the construction of a multifunctional garrison in the south-west area of the town center of Campi Bisenzio, near via Barberinese, Province of Florence.
The study was aimed at the construction of a new structure intended to accommodate more functions, both health and social-health, carried out in collaboration with the Florence Health Authority, which
is upstream of the care pathway with its hospitals and that, in the course of the care path, they will transfer patients to the inpatient areas of the new facility.
The structure responds to the need to be able to control the care pathway of the chronic patient in its entirety.
The existence within the structure of a hospital activity ensures a medical presence qualified 24 h. on 24 h. for all levels of care, as well as a qualified nursing presence.
Patients in the RSA area will be guaranteed a high degree of freedom while maintaining those guarantees of safety that are typical of a healthcare facility, with the possibility of using large outdoor spaces.
Expected operational units:
Rehabilitation and geriatric hospitalization area (160 beds)
Diagnostic imaging service
Recovery and functional rehabilitation clinic
Residential structure for elderly non self-sufficient people RSA (80 beds) of which one core of 20 beds for Alzheimer’s patients
The project tried to differentiate the main internal routes of the structure, organizing and distinguishing the various accesses.
The design was carried out for reiterated fixed-size modules, separated by modular walls which, with different combinations, make it possible to prepare a considerable variety of spaces and hosted functions. All this to ensure greater flexibility of use of the structure and lower maintenance costs.
